Chef – 34m Private SY

PMR Recruitment is seeking a Chef to join a 34m private sailing yacht with light owner usage, starting ASAP in the Caribbean ahead of a crossing in approximately three weeks. This is a permanent position onboard a well-run yacht with a crew of four and a positive, active team dynamic. The program is private with a relaxed yet professional atmosphere. Winter cruising will include the Caribbean region before returning to the Mediterranean. Usage is light, typically one longer owner trip of 3-4 weeks plus occasional family use.
We are looking for a chef with sailing yacht experience who is confident cooking for both owners and crew. A formal cooking course and a couple of years’ practical experience are preferred – this role is not suited to someone completely green, and Michelin-level fine dining is not required.
Cuisine style is fresh, healthy, Mediterranean-inspired food, with the ability to cater to more classic, simple preferences. The crew enjoy balanced, healthy meals, and the ideal candidate will align well with an active onboard lifestyle. Flexibility and a willingness to assist other departments when needed are important.
Requirements:
STCW & ENG1
B1/B2 visa advantageous
Sailing yacht experience essential
Non-smoker preferred
Light drinker
Driver’s licence beneficial
Tattoos acceptable if non-offensive
