Vessel Details:
• A 27m new build private motor yacht is seeking an experienced Captain to join the vessel in Australia following her arrival from Europe.
• This is a brand-new motor yacht which will operate an exciting Australian programme throughout the year, cruising between the Whitsundays, Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne.
• This is a permanent position, with the owners looking for a Captain who can develop a strong understanding of the yacht and become an important part of the programme for the long term.
Position Overview:
• This is a hands-on Captain’s position suited to someone with strong knowledge of Australian waters and cruising grounds. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the overall operation of the yacht once she arrives in Australia, including navigation, itinerary planning, crew management, maintenance oversight, owner and guest operations, and the day-to-day running of the vessel.
• Given the yacht’s extensive programme along the Australian coastline, local knowledge will be particularly valuable. The owners would therefore ideally like to find someone already based in Australia who understands the cruising areas, local infrastructure, suppliers, regulations and operational requirements.
Requirements:
• Strong experience cruising Australian waters would be highly advantageous, particularly throughout the Whitsundays and East Coast.
• The yacht is looking for a practical, organised and hands-on Captain with excellent communication skills, strong owner interaction, and a genuine interest in building a long-term relationship with the vessel and family.
• You must preferably be based in Australia to be considered for this role.
• The package includes a strong salary in USD per month on a permanent contract, together with the opportunity to take command of a new build and establish an exciting long-term cruising programme throughout Australia.
• Start date: early October.
